is that all there is?

David Choi tweeted this song by Peggy Lee “is that all there is?” it’s an old song which is great btw. I don’t know but the song is kind of intriguing. David Choi tweeted along with the link that it is a good song when nothing in life is impressing. Anyway, I even googled what the song really means...

If you listen to it, the first stanza I understand. It’s positive. Is that all there is to a fire? But the following was confusing… Is that all there is to the greatest show on earth? is that all there is to love? is that all there is in life? I have found no answer in the reviews that people gave to the song. I have this answer that satisfied me, my answer.

“Is that all there is?” YES. We never stop asking that question. We never get contented. We always want MORE. We never really get satisfied. It is a good thing, in a way, when we are stuck in a bad situation, we could always ask... "is that all there is?" Though there is someone you could never ask that. It is my dear Lord Jesus. With his great love, how could you ask is that all there is? He loved us so much that he came to this world even though he knows that he’ll only suffer. He even died on the cross for someone like you and me.

Isn’t my answer a bit fitting to our holidays? Jesus is the reason for this season J I know it’s a bit late since Christmas is way over but New Year’s isn’t yet. It is never too late! I hope this 2011. We get to have proper situations to ask “is that all there is”
